What is Body Contouring?

Body contouring is a type of treatment designed to enhance the body’s natural contours by reducing the appearance of fat or excess skin. Body contouring has traditionally been the realm of plastic surgeons, but new innovations have led to a variety of non-surgical alternatives. Non-surgical body contouring can effectively reshape and restore the body without the hassle and downtime of surgery.

What Causes Body Concerns?

One of the most widespread body concerns is stubborn fat. It’s a common myth that you can spot-reduce fat through diet and exercise, leading to frustration from many patients. In reality, stubborn fat is genetic, and no amount of diet and exercise can get rid of it. It’s also common to be left with pockets of fat after significant weight fluctuations or after pregnancy.

Another common body concern is excess skin. Sagging, excess skin is a common product of weight fluctuations and pregnancy, especially in areas like the stomach. Excess skin is almost impossible to get rid of through diet and exercise.

What are My Treatment Options for Body Contouring?

There are a variety of body contouring options available. For excess fat, CoolSculpting® can permanently get rid of fat cells with controlled cooling energy. It comes with no downtime and works best as a package of 1-2 treatments spaced a couple weeks apart. Most patients begin to see results within 3-4 weeks which continue to improve for up to six months. Multiple areas can be treated with CoolSculpting, including popular areas like the stomach, chin, arms, thighs, hips, and more.

For skin laxity, RF microneedling is one of the most effective non-surgical options available. It works by stimulating collagen production with controlled wounding and at the same time, administering bi-polar radiofrequency energy to generate heat and contract the skin. Most patients undergo a package of 3-4 treatments, but this can depend on your concerns and treatment area. RF microneedling can produce results in as little as one week with improvements continuing for months.

SkinTyte® is another excellent option for non-surgical skin tightening. It works by heating the deep layers of the skin with pulsed infrared light energy. This process does not damage the outer layers of the skin and instead causes tissue contraction and collagen stimulation. It comes with no downtime and can produce substantial results within 2-3 months.

How Can I Maintain My Results from Body Contouring Treatment?

The best way to maintain your non-surgical body contouring results is by living a healthy and active lifestyle. Significant weight fluctuations can leave stubborn fat deposits and stretched skin, requiring further treatment. Our team can help you explore ways to make the most of your body contouring results during your consultation.
