What is Juvéderm Ultra Plus?
Ultra Plus is a dermal filler belonging to the Juvéderm® family of fillers. It’s made with hyaluronic acid, a complex sugar found in your skin that keeps it supple and moisturized. Hyaluronic acid fillers work by restoring volume under the skin in place of lost collagen. This makes them one of the easiest ways to reduce signs of aging like facial folds and areas of hollowness. Ultra Plus is specifically formulated to enhance the size and shape of the lips as well as fill in facial wrinkles like nasolabial folds around the mouth.

The Treatment Process
Ultra Plus can be administered right in our Pensacola office. To begin, our team will help you develop a personalized treatment plan based on your unique goals. You’ll receive a full estimate of how much product will be required for your ideal results. Once you’re ready, the product will be placed under the skin with a very fine needle. Most patients can tolerate the process but we can supply a topical numbing cream if needed. Ultra Plus produces instant results so you can ensure you’ve achieved your desired look. You can return to your normal schedule immediately after treatment.
Recovery and Results
There’s no downtime required after Ultra Plus treatment, but you should avoid intensive activities and hot environments like saunas or hot tubs. Make sure to also avoid rubbing or touching the treatment area for the first 24 hours. If the area feels sensitive or swollen, you can apply a protected ice back for 15 minutes at a time. You may have some bruising, especially if you take blood-thinning medications before or after treatment.
It can take 1-2 weeks for your final results to emerge and for the product to settle. By this time, the swelling should subside. It can be helpful to drink plenty of water during this time to help the product draw moisture. Ultra Plus can last for up to one year and you can return for a touch-up appointment to maintain your results.
