Botox has become an extraordinarily popular minimally-invasive cosmetic treatment, likely due to a high level of patient satisfaction and safety. Botox is injected into certain facial muscles to prevent them from contracting, reducing the wrinkles that they cause. The team at Grace and Grey is full of experienced injectors who take great care in placement and amount of injections.
What is Botox?
Botox is a botulinum toxin injection used to address dynamic wrinkles on the face. Every day, we make many facial expressions that are caused by muscle contractions. Over time, this repeated muscle contraction can lead to lines and wrinkles, known as dynamic wrinkles. Botox can be used to smooth frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead lines, and more. It works by relaxing targeted muscles, resulting in smoother skin and a more youthful appearance.
Is Botox Right for You?
Ideal Botox candidates will be 18 years or older and wish to address dynamic wrinkles for a refreshed appearance. However, those with certain muscle or nerve conditions or who are pregnant or nursing should not receive Botox. Your Customized Botox Consultation
Candidates for Botox are those who have begun to experience the first signs of aging in the face. The most commonly injected areas are the forehead to treat the horizontal wrinkles, around the eyes to address crow’s feet li, and in between the eyebrows in the area called the glabella to treat mild to severe frown lines. Additionally, Botox can be used in the treatment of a gummy smile. Botox is quite affordable and can provide the refreshed look you want without surgery. It can be used alone or as part of an overall aesthetic plan complementing surgical procedures.

Meet The Team The Treatment Process
Botox treatment works by altering the facial muscles beneath the skin that are related to wrinkles. Typically, a small amount of Botox is injected into the area causing the wrinkles. The active ingredient, botulinum toxin, then works by blocking the impulses from the nerve to the facial muscles. The result is that the underlying facial muscles relax, and the skin begins to smooth. Botox injections can be performed with a topical anesthetic to maximize your comfort. Most patients report a slight pinching at the injection site. The number of injections you need will depend on the extent of your wrinkles.
Recovery and Results
Botulinum toxin injections such as Botox are not associated with any downtime, and you can return to your normal activities immediately after treatment. In fact, many of our patients get their treatments on their lunch break before going back to work. Patients are asked to avoid intense exercise for at least four hours after their treatment. Mild bruising may occur but resolves quickly. You should not massage or rub the injected areas for at least twenty-four hours after receiving Botox.
The effects of a Botox treatment will be seen within two to seven days and will last approximately three to four months, after which time you may choose to repeat the procedure. After your Botox treatment, you can express yourself without your lines and wrinkles showing, resulting in a more youthful appearance.

Botox FAQs
Can Botox age you?
A common misconception is that Botox ages patients, but this is a rare occurrence. This unwanted side effect only occurs when Botox is overused but we will take care to administer the right amount of Botox and schedule treatments as needed to maintain your youthful appearance without overuse.
Can Botox lift eyebrows?
Yes. When Botox is injected under the eyebrow, the muscle relaxes and the eyebrow is subtly lifted to address the look of droopy brows. Patients can expect a refreshed and more youthful appearance from this brow lift alternative.
Is Botox good for under eye wrinkles?
Yes! Botox is commonly used around the eyes to treat crow’s feet and fine lines under the eyes. However, Botox can not treat under-eye bags or hollows.
Should I move my face after Botox?
