Voluma XC injectable gel is an injectable treatment belonging to the Juvéderm collection of fillers. This hyaluronic acid formula can effectively add volume to the cheeks and midface through a deep injection. Aside from cheek augmentation, some patients also opt for Voluma for chin augmentation or lip augmentation. Hyaluronic acid is an important substance in the skin that retains moisture, and Voluma uses a specific formulation that is thicker and more durable than other Juvéderm injectables, meaning it can last longer and provide more lift and contour to flat or sagging cheeks. Liz is an experienced registered nurse with 14 years in the field, including 8 years specializing in aesthetic injections. She graduated with her nursing degree from Georgia State University in 2010 and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Chamberlain University in 2022. Before transitioning into aesthetics, Liz worked in the operating room and in various medical specialties including GI, spine, ortho, neuro, ENT, and facial plastics. She served as a trainer for Evolus, educating healthcare professionals on neurotoxin & filler injections, and was named ‘Best Injector in Atlanta’ by Jezebel magazine for 2024. Liz is currently listed in the ‘Best Aesthetic Injectors in America’ national directory as a recommended provider for the Pensacola area. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her golden retriever Bensky. She also enjoys traveling, playing golf, snowboarding, and dancing!
Meet The Team The Treatment Process
Our team begins injectable treatments with a topical anesthetic for your comfort during the injection process. Voluma also includes another anesthetic, lidocaine, to ensure against discomfort as the product is placed under the skin. Our team then uses a very fine needle to place the gel deep under the skin of the cheeks to create lift and volume according to your face’s unique profile. This careful, artistic process can require multiple, small injections to create the intended shape and results. Our team can ensure you know how much product will be required during your consultation.
Recovery and Results
As with any dermal filler injection, you can expect some bruising or swelling at the injection site after your treatment session, which usually subsides within the day. Voluma requires no downtime, and you can return to your regular schedule immediately. Our team will give you a list of side effects to watch for, including severe headache, unusual pain, severe allergic reaction, skin injury, vision abnormalities, and more. In most cases, Juvéderm is very safe and effective when administered by an experienced injector.
Voluma lasts the longest of any Juvéderm injectables at up to two years, after which you can repeat the treatment or look at your other options for mid-face rejuvenation.
