What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal is a permanent solution for unwanted hair. It works by targeting the pigment in the hair shaft with laser energy of a specific wavelength. The laser energy travels down the hair shaft and into the hair follicle where it generates heat, damaging the hair growth mechanisms. Over time and with repeated treatments, this causes hair growth to slow down and eventually stop. Our team performs laser hair removal in a variety of areas, including:
- Underarms
- Legs
- Face
- Chest
- Shoulders
- Arms
- Bikini area
- Back
Your Customized Laser Hair Removal Consultation
Traditional laser hair removal technologies work best on patients with fair skin and dark hair, but there are a variety of newer technologies that can be used on patients of many different skin types and tones. During a consultation, our team can help you explore your best options. You’ll receive a full estimate of how many sessions you can expect for best results, as well as the length of time required for each session. You’ll be given instructions on removing hair before your first session to ensure your treatment is successful and low-risk.

Meet The Team The Treatment Process
It’s important to shave your hair the night before your laser hair removal treatment. This ensures a successful procedure and prevents damage to the skin. To begin, your treatment area will be cleansed and made ready for treatment. We can supply a topical numbing cream if you’re concerned about discomfort. You’ll also be given protective eye shields to prevent damage to your vision. Once you’re ready, the handpiece will be applied to your treatment area. The length of your laser hair removal session can depend on the size of the area – small areas like the upper lip can be completed in just a few minutes, while large areas like the chest or legs will require a longer treatment session. Once the area is fully treated, your skin will be soothed and made ready for the rest of your day.
Recovery and Results
You can return to your normal activities after laser hair removal treatments but should avoid exercising or going outside without sunscreen. Your treated skin will be very photosensitive, so wear SPF 30+ daily. When you clean the area, make sure to use a gentle, unscented cleanser and avoid scrubbing or rubbing. For the first 24 hours, avoid putting makeup, deodorant, or moisturizers on the area if you experience irritation. Finally, don’t remove the hair by plucking, waxing, shaving, or epilating since it can negatively impact your results.
It’s normal to have some redness and bumps in the treatment area. You can treat these symptoms by using a protected ice back for 15 minutes at a time. The treated hair will begin to shed within one week and will continue for up to a month. This will continue as you undergo additional treatments. Unlike other hair removal methods, laser hair removal offers permanent results after a series of 3-6 treatments, depending on your hair type and the size of the treatment area. After each procedure, the treated hair will grow back thinner, so you can gradually see the results. You may need maintenance treatments to prevent future hair growth, but laser hair removal typically produces long-term results.
