What is Laser Resurfacing?
Sometimes called the laser peel, laser resurfacing is an anti-aging treatment that uses laser energy to precisely ablate the surface of the skin and stimulate the production of new cells. These new cells contribute to an overall healthier look and a reduction in many stubborn skin concerns. Laser resurfacing is one of the most effective ways to get rid of aging signs like fine lines and wrinkles, as well as achieve a more radiant and glowing look to the skin.

The Treatment Process
Laser resurfacing treatment times can vary depending on your unique treatment needs. To begin, you’ll meet with our team to discuss your goals and develop a personalized treatment approach. You’ll be given a full estimate of how many treatments are needed to achieve the best results, as well as an appropriate schedule. Once you’re ready, your skin will be cleansed and made ready for treatment. We can supply a topical anesthetic for comfort during treatment. You’ll be given a pair of protective eye shields and the handpiece will be applied to the skin. Once the full area is treated, your skin will be neutralized and made ready for the rest of your day.
Recovery and Results
Our team will give you detailed aftercare instructions to follow. It’s normal to experience redness and sensitivity similar to a severe sunburn. This can also include minor swelling and itchiness. It’s important to avoid scratching or picking at the skin and keep it protected with ointment and sunscreen of at least SPF 30. Your skin will begin to peel within a few days and peeling can last for a few weeks depending on the extensiveness of your procedure.
It can take several weeks for the skin to fully recover and for pinkness to fade. However, you’ll begin to see your results emerge at this point with a noticeably brighter and more youthful look. Laser resurfacing is a long-lasting treatment option and can be repeated as needed to maintain your results.
