What is Sculptra?

Sculptra® is a unique injectable treatment that can fill in fine lines and wrinkles while stimulating the production of natural collagen. Sculptra is made with poly-L-lactic acid, an absorbable and semi-permanent ingredient that stimulates the skin to produce collagen as it fades. Sculptra goes beyond traditional hyaluronic acid fillers and creates new collagen to take its place, producing long-term results and treating the underlying causes of aging. This makes Sculptra one of the most effective injectable anti-aging treatments available. Sculptra is an excellent option for signs of aging in the lower and mid-face like nasolabial lines, chin lines, and marionette lines. These areas tend to experience aging signs because of a breakdown of collagen that makes the skin more susceptible to the effects of gravity. Sculptra can not only fill in these folds and reduce their appearance, but it can restore lost collagen for long-lasting results. Our team uses Sculptra to restore facial volume along with other anti-aging treatments like Botox®, RF microneedling, and laser resurfacing.

The Treatment Process

Sculptra can be administered at our Pensacola office. To begin, you’ll discuss your goals with the Grace + Grey team and develop a personalized treatment plan. You’ll also receive an estimate of how much product is needed to achieve your ideal results. Once you’re ready, the product is placed under the skin using a very fine needle. A topical anesthetic can be supplied if pain is a concern. Once the area is fully treated, you can return to your normal schedule.

Recovery and Results

You can return to your normal daily activities after Sculptra, but you may have some slight redness or swelling – this should subside within a day or two. It’s important to avoid sun exposure and wear SPF 30+. If you experience any sensitivity, you can apply a protected ice pack for 15 minutes at a time. You may experience bruising, especially if you take blood-thinning medications like ibuprofen before or after treatment. It can be helpful to gently massage the area for the first week.

It can take a few weeks to see the final results of your Sculptra treatment. However, results can last up to two years as the product fades and healthy new collagen takes its place. Our team will help you develop a treatment package to continue stimulating collagen production for the best results.
