The Treatment Process
Lip fillers like Ultra XC take very little time and can often be performed during your lunch break at our Pensacola office. You’ll discuss your goals with the Grace + Grey team and determine the right injectable product for your needs. You’ll also be given an estimate of how much product will be necessary for your intended look. To begin, the area will be sterilized and you’ll be given a topical numbing cream. The lips can be more sensitive than other injection areas so most patients appreciate the added comfort. Once you’re ready, the product will be injected into the lips with a very fine needle. You’ll be able to see instant results with Juvéderm and you can ensure you’ve achieved your desired look before you leave. Afterward, you can return to your normal activities.
Recovery and Results
You’ll have some restrictions as you go about your day after treatment. You should avoid intensive exercise and hot environments like saunas or hot tubs – these can exacerbate swelling. Make sure to avoid touching or rubbing your lips (avoid messy foods that require wiping your mouth, too). It’s normal to have some sensitivity and you can ease it by applying a protected ice pack for 15 minutes at a time. You can prevent bruising by avoiding blood-thinning medications before and after treatment.
It can take 1-2 weeks for swelling to subside and the product to settle in. During this time, the product binds to moisture in your body so it can be helpful to drink plenty of water. Ultra XC can last up to a year, at which point you can return for re-treatment.
