What is Radiofrequency Microneedling?
Radiofrequency, or RF, microneedling is an advanced form of microneedling that uses radiofrequency energy to stimulate new collagen and contract loose skin. It works by generating controlled wounds in the skin with microneedles that emit bi-polar radiofrequency energy. This jumpstarts the skin’s wound-healing mechanisms while the radiofrequency energy generates gentle heat in the deeper layers of the skin, causing it to contract and “shrink.” RF microneedling is one of the best options available for non-surgical skin tightening and anti-aging because of its extremely effective combination approach. The Treatment Process
RF microneedling can be performed at our Pensacola office using the Morpheus8 machine. To begin, you’ll determine the right treatment approach with the help of our skincare experts. Once you’re ready, your skin will be cleansed and numbed so you’re comfortable during the treatment. The Morpheus8 handpiece will be applied to your treatment area where it will generate tiny channels in the skin and administer warming radiofrequency energy. Once the area is completely treated, physician-grade active ingredients will be applied to your skin so they can penetrate the deeper layers where they’re most effective. Once complete, your skin will be soothed and made ready for the rest of your day.
Recovery and Results
Morpheus8 can cause some redness and sensitivity for a few days after treatment. It’s important to be gentle with your skin and avoid harsh products or exfoliation. Your skin will be especially sensitive to sun damage so make sure to wear SPF 30+ daily. It can take a few weeks for your skin to recover but you’ll begin to see a noticeable improvement in your skin’s radiance, texture, and quality. Most patients benefit from a package of 3-4 Morpheus8 RF microneedling treatments spaced about one month apart to fully treat skin concerns. However, after your initial package, you can return for maintenance treatments every 6-12 months to continually stimulate collagen and prevent aging signs.
