What is Hair Restoration?

Hair restoration is the non-surgical process of rejuvenating hair growth on the scalp. The goal of hair restoration is to boost natural hair growth and achieve thicker, healthier hair. Although hair transplantation surgery is an advanced hair restoration option, it isn’t the best option for every patient. Non-surgical hair restoration packages can effectively restore hair growth when used early and often.

What Causes Hair Loss?

There are a variety of factors that can cause hair loss (alopecia). Some of the most common include genetics, hormones, medical conditions, medications, or aging. Heredity is the most common cause of permanent hair loss, but factors like hormones, stress, or medications can cause short-term hair loss. Short-term hair loss can typically be treated with lifestyle adjustments or by simply waiting. Permanent hair loss, however, needs professional treatment if you’re bothered by it.

There are also different types of hair loss, including male-pattern baldness (hair loss on the top and front of the scalp) and female-pattern baldness (hair thinning in the natural part). In either case, hair loss is best treated early with the help of our hair restoration team.

What are My Treatment Options for Hair Restoration?

During a consultation, our team will assess your hair growth and help you create a personalized treatment package. There are a variety of options available that are best used together as a multi-faceted approach.

Microneedling

Microneedling is a treatment that stimulates cellular activity by generating controlled wounds in the skin. When used for hair restoration, it can help increase hair growth by boosting cellular activity in the area – especially paired with hair growth products which can more easily reach the deeper levels of the skin. Weekly treatments can sometimes achieve noticeable hair growth, and monthly maintenance treatments can help continue the hair growth process.

Prescription Treatments

Prescription hair growth products like minoxidil (Rogaine) are tried and true ways to stimulate hair growth at home. It works best paired with regular professional treatments like microneedling which can allow it to more effectively penetrate the follicles.

How Can I Maintain My Results from Hair Restoration Treatment?

Unfortunately, the medical hair restoration community hasn’t reached the point where we can achieve permanent hair restoration results. This means that regular maintenance treatments are the best way to continually stimulate hair growth and cellular activity. Once you undergo an initial treatment package, it’s best to determine an ongoing schedule with our team. During your consultation, we’ll ensure you have a complete understanding of what to expect from hair restoration.
