What is Laser Tattoo Removal?
Laser tattoo removal is the process of removing permanent tattoos with the help of laser technology. Tattoos are created by depositing pigment under the skin. These pigments are too large for the immune system to dismantle and get rid of, so they stay in place. Laser tattoo removal works by administering high-intensity laser pulses of a wavelength specific to the tattoo color. These very fast laser pulses are attracted to the pigment and break it up into smaller pieces. These smaller pieces can be metabolized by the body and they eventually fade from the skin. Our team uses laser tattoo removal to help many patients achieve clear skin if they dislike their tattoo or fade it such that it can be covered with a different tattoo.
Your Customized Laser Tattoo Removal Consultation
The success of laser tattoo removal is dependent on a variety of factors including the tattoo’s age, pigment, and depth. During a consultation with our knowledgeable team, you’ll discuss the right treatment approach for your goals and what sort of results you can expect – as well as how many treatments will be needed. Laser tattoo removal can be used on virtually any area of the skin, but if your tattoo is large, you can expect lengthier treatment sessions to completely treat the area.

The Treatment Process
Laser tattoo removal can be performed right at our Pensacola office. To begin, our team will fully assess your tattoo and discuss your personalized treatment package. Your skin will be cleansed and a topical anesthetic will be applied so you’re comfortable during treatment. Once you’re ready, you’ll be given protective eye shields and the laser handpiece will be applied to the area. After the area is completely treated, your skin will be neutralized and made ready for the rest of your day.
Recovery and Results
You can expect some redness and minor swelling in the area. There may also be some slight blistering and it’s important to keep the area covered with antibacterial ointment. Our team will supply detailed aftercare instructions to ensure it heals effectively. Over several weeks you’ll begin to see the tattoo fade – however, it can take several sessions spaced 6-8 weeks apart to completely or mostly fade the tattoo. Laser tattoo removal is permanent, though, and can produce excellent results with a full package of treatments.
